Slither Movie Story - Synopsis. Slither is ablend of terror, wry humor and humanity from James Gunn, whose screenwrite of Dawn of the Dead became one of 2004's most hilarious movies. From filmmaker JAMES GUNN (Dawn of the Dead - screenwrite) comes the latest horror comedy with a story so deliciously heinous, and unbelievably that its mere name brings to mind the sickening giant mollusks of the invertebrate underbelly world. Bloodthirsty zombies, Huge slugs from space and slime-ridden oozing bug overlords have finally come together in the hilarious movie: Slither. The sleepy town of Wheelsy could be any small town in America, gentle, people with friendly folks who mind their own business. But just beneath the surface , something unnamed and evil has arrived and is yet growing. No one seems to notice as telephone poles become clogged with missing pet flyers, or when one of the town's richest citizens, Grant Grant, begins to act very strange. But when farmers livestock turn up horribly mutilated and a young woman goes missing, Sheriff Bill Pardy and his team, aided by Grant's wife Starla, uncover the dark force behind the siege to their town and come face-to-face with an older-than-time organism intent on destroying all life on Earth. On a summer evening, Grant visits the local bar. There he meets Brenda (BRENDA JAMES), the younger sister of one of his girlfriends, who’s more than willing to listen to Grant’s stories. Abandoning their drinks for a walk, the pair sees something slimy in the woods behind the cafe. Near the remains of a meteor, Grant and Brenda find a trail of ooze and a pulsating mass. Suddenly it comes to life and overtakes Grant, penetrating his body with a tentacle. An alien parasite has found and infected its first human host, a human transporter who now must infect others in order to survive.
